AMBER CARROLL, CPC
Baltimore, Maryland: Amber Carroll, CPC, joined the team at Terra Counseling & Consulting, Inc (Terra) as a Certified Life Coach. She received her Certified Professional Coach and Certified Life Coach credentials from the World Coaching Institute, an accredited International Coaching Federation. Carroll is also a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with a degree in journalism and electronic media, and mental health awareness and suicide prevention advocate.
“Amber brings a unique background to our team,” said Amy Price, Clinical Director for Terra. “Her previous experience as a broadcast journalist and TV anchor equips her to tell the stories behind the story. With this background Amber is well-positioned to ask insightful questions and uncover her clients’ core motivations. We want our clients to live their stories to the fullest and Amber’s gifts will help them craft that narrative so they can flourish.”
Carroll, a Nashville-native, worked in broadcasting for over 7-years as an anchor and field reporter. She told the stories of childhood athletes battling cancer, the University of South Carolina football team, the PGA golf tour, and others. She is also the founder of We Are Team Jake, a non-profit started in memory of her brother who lost his life to suicide. Team Jake is focused on helping to tell his story and supporting those who struggle with mental health, suicide prevention, and loss.
“Mental Health has played an important role in my life, as well of the lives of others close to me,” said Carroll. “When I lost my brother to suicide, I sought to learn more about suicide prevention and mental health awareness. I became a Life Coach to combine my passions of storytelling and mental health advocacy to help others thrive. That is, ultimately, what I want for my clients, to see them prioritize and embrace their own narrative, their mental health and, ultimately, to flourish.”
