A virtual 6-week course on Intentional Nourishment
This is a virtual 6-week course led by Alexa Bedingfield, MS, CNS-candidate and nutritionist at Terra Counseling and Consulting. It will be conducted virtually and participants will receive a private link for video calls. In this course you will learn how to:
- Make intentional food choices
- Reduce mindless eating
- Increase the use of all your senses (not just taste) when experiencing food to make eating a more joyful experience
- Acknowledge your body’s responses to certain foods without judgment
- Become more attuned to your body’s hunger and satiety cues to guide when and how much to eat
- Identify what barriers and obstacles prevent mindful eating
The course will begin with an assessment which will help participants to gauge their current level of mindfulness related to eating habits. In each group meeting, we will explore different mindful eating principles and then practice one or more mindful eating techniques and reflect on the experience. Participants will be provided with additional resources to practice in between sessions. At the end of the course, we will revisit the assessment completed in week one to measure improvements in participants’ mindful eating habits.
